DANI HAZE

The Chaotic Path That Led Me Here; To give you the lowdown:

I was born in Syracuse, NY, and raised in a quaint and picturesque lake town. I mean Gilmore Girls/Hallmark-type vibe. After having a lovely small-town experience, I moved to the absolute definition of suburbia: Northern Virginia. I experienced lots of teen angst at the time however, I recognize now all the opportunities I had access to due to the move. Things like DECA, Volleyball, Student Council, proximity to DC, and volunteer opportunities. It’s always wild to me how much kids can pack into their schedule. Between school, activities, socialization, family time, and hobbies, how did I have time to eat and sleep??? I was highly involved in extracurriculars up until March 2020. We all know what happened. It was my senior year of high school and I didn’t realize at the time how impactful this change of life would be for me in the long-term.

As I said my goodbyes to my friends going off to their respective college campuses, I stayed back = attending school online and living at home. Whoopie! In all seriousness, I am very grateful for my situation + health throughout that period. However, after a year, I knew I had to do what I felt like I’d been ready for since the age of 15. I transferred to a university in NYC, ignoring all those in my life who argued against it. I knew in my heart + soul that that had to be my next step. I am a pretty determined gal who always trusts her gut.

I did the thing, enrolled in classes, found an apartment + roommates, blah blah blah. About a week before my move, *PANIC - Tuition bill, student loans, jumpscare! I unenrolled and decided to accept a lending hand. As I was already working at Starbucks, I took advantage of the tuition benefit and attended ASU online whilst working at Starbucks in the city. I graduated in December 2022, a year and a half early, Summa Cum Laude, with my B.A. in Mass Communications and Media Studies. While I worked and attended school, I soaked up all the city offered me. Ever since moving, I feel constantly inspired the second I stepped out of my apartment building. I mean really, within 10 minutes of a morning walk; I’m in awe of at least 10 people.

Post-grad, I started an internship at a PR and communications agency. About a month in, I was offered a position and that is where I’ve been for the past year. Of course, I have used any free time to work as a production assistant, connect with others, and expand myself artistically. While I learned so much and connected with so many great individuals, I knew there was something else out there that was meant for me.

I am currently working as a “freelance creative” You’re welcome to tell me what you think that means and entails. Essentially, I am hungry to learn any and all skills. Any opportunity to grow professionally and personally, sign me up if I’m not already there! I have loved my time working as a production assistant in the event world and would love to continue in additional to other creative spaces. To give it to you straight my hopes and dreams lead me to music and media. I love storytelling, expression, and working with other creative minds. Day by day, I am taking steps to land myself in the management and production of music, entertainment, and alternative media like podcasts. I believe the greatest gift I have received in life is a curious and ambitious mind that won’t ever settle. Always excited and eager for more!
